Austin Hygge from Tiny Happy Clay

I've been reading about the Danish concept of hygge and it seems to fit in with my philosophy at Tiny Happy Clay so I thought I'd share some photos of recent work. Snuggling up with a warm mug is high on the hygge list!
Cozy animal mugs to curl up for some hygge Austin style.

Cute Loch Ness Monster ornaments :)

And some textured red bird ornaments, among other things!

A booth shot (#55) from the Blue Genie Art Bazaar at 6100 Airport Blvd., Austin, TX

Guitar Town

One of the things I absolutely love about Austin is the music! Although I don't get out much because I have little ones, I enjoy hearing live music when I can. I also enjoy playing music with my husband when we get the chance.  So these mugs were designed for my love of music and they celebrate the spirit of the Live Music Capital of the World!

I've been busy in my studio creating work for the upcoming Blue Genie Art Bazaar. I have a ton of cat and owl vases and a variety of mugs drying on my shelves!

Butterflies and Birds

I've been busy here at my little studio! Some fresh things out of the kiln:

This mug was an experiment with a wash style glaze treatment. I added radiating gold lines to play up the etched pattern.

Here is the back of the mug which features a ladybug and bird decal along with bits of gold. The texture also includes a stamped surface as well as etched marks.

Here is the detail of the bird and you can see at the top left a heart stamp filled with gold on the handle. Overall I thought this mug was going to be a failure but it turned out's to trying new things!

A blue mushroom ring dish. The cap lifts off and the ring can be stored on the stem.

Also, I just applied to the Blue Genie Art Bazaar for the holiday season so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping I get accepted!

Mushrooms and Monsters Galore

These little mushrooms are designed to be the cutest ring dishes ever!!! You just lift the top off, slide your rings on and replace the top for neat and fun storage.
They are in the kiln now, being glaze fired. I opted for classic red with white polka dots and a couple of the bowl rims I tried lining with iceberg blue.
Can't wait to post the results, they should be ready to take out tomorrow morning.
Also coming up is a fun Loch Ness Monster mug. Here is a progress shot, before I added blues and greens. Happy Friday!!!

Tiny Owls and Beautiful Birds

So I finished glazing some tiny owls this week. And some succulent planters like the one pictured above.

Farewell little fellow, I hope you like your new home up North!

I had a lot of fun photographing the tiny happy owls.

New bird ornaments. I'm also going to make some wind chimes with the birds as well.
